This week, one of the pieces of feedback I received was to create more complex designs, as my primary concepts didn't have enough detail. Upon receiving this feedback, I was pretty stressed as I had spent the whole of last week creating other designs. Following this feedback would put me back at square one as I would have to re-design everything I have done previously. Nevertheless, I followed their advice and I attempted to re-create a new, more complex, design using my old concepts.
I was advised to look into the work of Laura Bifano as well as taking inspiration from the PSP game, Echochrome. I gathered together images of Lauras into a mood board in order to look more closely at the creatures and began to sketch my own ideas.

Unfortunately, I only managed to sketch out one idea before receiving some more feedback, which was "to stick with the simplicity of the designs and focus on building a sense of journey and to link all the characters in order to create environments". This feedback really cleared my mind about my remaining tasks and what I wanted the finished concept to look like.
My first idea was to add trees, foliage and landscape to those creatures, but then I realised I'd lose the general shape of the animal. Taking the first piece of advice into consideration, I looked in the PSP game, Echochrome. I started to sketch really rough puzzles, thinking about illusions and impossible shapes. My aim was to incorporate the illusion into the body in a way where I don't lose the overall look of the original design.

The last task on my list for this week was to create some colour palette for these creatures so I have taken the original designs and I began to colour the ones that I thought they had an interesting shape I have mainly been colour picking random colours and using Color Scheme Designer to come up with colours that work together and I also used my mood baord for colour inspiration.
