This was quite an important week as I started to create my first big asset which was the carousel. The first few days I spent struggling to model the top section of the carousel as it was a really different shape and the angle made it difficult to keep the topology flowing through the model. I eventually found a way to go about it and decided to model a small part and copy and rotate to form the correct shape perfectly.




Once that was done, I started to model the horses. I did a very low poly model of the horse as a reference and imported the model into ZBrush to add more detail that I was intending to use to bake the normal map, however I decided the horse was still lacking some detail so I went back and added some more little features to the horse such as a mane and changed the silhouette a little. In the end I used substance painter to create all my maps, but I used the ZBrush sculpt as a reference while modeling and finished the week by unwrapping the model.
